The location of Catalonia Puerta del Sol amazed me. I walked to major attractions like Plaza Mayor and Museo del Prado within minutes. The room offered a nice ambiance, very clean, with comfortable beds and a lovely view overlooking Calle Atocha. One of my favorite touches was the in-room Nespresso machine. mornings felt special with fresh coffee. I also enjoyed free afternoon snacks, perfect for a quick pick-me-up. Staff here were incredibly friendly, especially the receptionist who helped with restaurant reservations, making our stay even more enjoyable. However, there were some shortcomings. The shower drained poorly, which was frustrating. It felt like it was about to overflow during use. Though I mentioned it to the front desk, the problem persisted. Additionally, I was hoping for complimentary water each day, but we only received one on arrival. Lastly, some staff struggled with English, leading to occasional misunderstandings. Overall, I loved my time here and would come back but hope they address these issues.

Prime central location makes it easy to explore nearby attractions. Spacious, comfortable rooms provide a cozy retreat after a long day. Complimentary afternoon tea with snacks offers a nice touch in the evening.
Construction noise right outside the bedroom window made it hard to unwind, especially late in the afternoon. expected a warning about this. The high breakfast prices felt exaggerated, suggesting more affordable nearby alternatives would serve better. Rooms could use a bit more character to reflect the historic charm of the building, as the decor currently feels somewhat standard.
